I know what it feels like to be the only one who doesn't quite get the joke.
I've lived in France for almost two decades, immersed in the culture and the language — with plenty of funny anecdotes picked up along the way. That experience shapes how I work. I don't just teach English. I empathise with learners who want to communicate and connect with people in a language that isn't their own.
Every time I teach, I learn too.

You drive. I guide.

Real learning happens at your pace, on a schedule that works for both of us. You set the rhythm of your journey — I'm simply here to guide it, not control it.

Words matter. Conversations connect.

Grammar can be learned from a book. But real confidence — speaking, listening, being truly understood — only comes from real conversation, with a real person, in a space where it feels safe to try.

Mistakes are not failures. They are proof you are learning.

Almost everyone who freezes — before they speak, or mid-sentence — is afraid of getting it wrong: a word, a tone, or sometimes simply not knowing how something will be understood in another culture. I create a space where getting it wrong is simply part of getting it right.

Most people don't need more grammar. They need to break the habit of staying silent.

The real obstacle to fluency is rarely a lack of knowledge — it's years of hesitation, self-correction and second-guessing. My role is to help you unlearn those reflexes and build new ones that serve you.

I'm Marian, a TEFL/TESOL-certified native English-speaking language coach/trainer and the person behind Curiosity4English.

Before coaching, I spent over twenty years in corporate IT roles across FMCG and pharmaceuticals, collaborating with people from around the world, connecting end users with technology solutions and bridging the gap between technical capability and what people actually need and want. That experience of making complex things clear, across cultures and contexts, shapes the way I work with every learner.I've also lived what many of my clients are living now. Having made France my home for almost two decades, I understand first-hand what it takes to build a life and a career in a language that isn't your own.People often tell me I put them at ease, and I'd like to think that's true. With Irish roots, a neutralised accent, and a natural curiosity about people and the world, I bring warmth, humour, and a genuine love of conversation to every session. I believe learning works best when it feels less like a lesson and more like a good chat — dynamic, empathetic, and yes, fun.A certified 7 Habits facilitator with a keen interest in neuroeducation, I bring a commitment to my own ongoing development — whether in AI or EI — because I believe the best coaches never stop being learners themselves.
